One Month Later... 34.5 Weeks

We're back in business!
The highlights of this month have been: sunny days!

Not all in a row. Not even all that hot. But dry, less windy, sunshiney days have compelled us to stay out of the house as much as possible. We have played in a lot of sand, dirt, gravel, and bark mulch. At the ocean, park, river, or in the woods... and we love it!!

Watching a house being built next door to Grandma and Grandpa Johnson's.... and dreaming of driving a REAL tractor!

Happy to be in the sun!

More sand =)

Today our new home is getting cleaned. Once that's finished, we should begin moving in our goods. Travis has done an excellent job taking care of the details. Today he was on the phone ordering our new refrigerator. We have opted to take price over quality in many areas. As a result we have a livable home, cozy, but without the frills. A place for little boys to bang around and play freely... and for this Mama to.... well, what DOES one do in a new house?!

In fewer than 6 weeks I am anticipating the arrival of our second baby boy. He has a name, and it's getting harder and harder not to call him by his name in front of people. He feels very much like part of the family!

My joints are getting less cooperative by the day. I still have to do a fair amount of picking up/carrying Jett, but it's not easy! I haven't had any contractions (other than Braxton Hicks) and apart from the general pregnancy discomforts, I'm pleased to say that all is well. Lots of people ask about my baby or tell me that I look ready to *pop* (funny expression).

30 Weeks

Trav and I explored some of Fort Stevens National park last Sunday afternoon. It is a gorgeous place and I am thrilled that we will live only a few miles from such beauty!

Earlier this week Jett and I took a bus from Seaside to Portland. We spent the day with Lisbeth and Shanna. Here are some photos from the adventure.

Umm... child, you are ruining the picture.

Oh well, if you can't make him stop... join him!

Yay! Shanna came to visit!

Watching the scenery from the bus: other buses, trains, cars, trucks...

Relaxing on the bus seats, glad to be homeward bound!

I don't have any belly shots from the past 2 weeks. Upon arriving home from Portland, I caught a nasty chest/head cold and have been just dragging through my days. Every day I hope I'm going to feel better but so far, no luck. Every night is long, uncomfortable, and not very restful. I'm making it through with the help of the Lord, Halls cough drops, and doing little away from home. Poor Jett has been stuck at home all week too.

In other news, painting is begun on the inside of our house. I haven't ventured out to see how it's shaping up, but it is a big step! We are that much closer to moving in...

Photos of Jett and his toes: At 5 months old, and at 14.5 months.... wow!

28 Weeks 4 Days

Hi Friends!

Somehow time just sneaks out the door and takes off running. This has been a busy time for us as a family. We have made a few trips to Vancouver, Wa... both to see family and on business. It is such a relief to catch up with my family. I treasure every chance I get!

Trav is no longer doing so much "hands on" work at our new house, so he has been home more often, keeping me company and helping with Jett. I absolutely love him for it. When the rain holds off, my guys spend as much time outside as possible. Jett is all boy... delighting in things like bonfires (burning boxes), playing in the dirt/mud/sand/gravel, and watching cars, trucks, and buses drive by in the distance. At the same time, he has a sweet side that snuggles his stuffed animals, and gives hugs and kisses.

"Coloring" on the driveway with Daddy's work pencil.

Don't be fooled.. this grin is only because he burped loudly and was quite impressed with himself.

We didn't have to tell Jett that these were outlets. The minute he saw one, he touched it saying "No No No No".

Several times a day he drags his teddy (and Pedrito) to this seat in the bookcase... just to sit.

Baby Boy #2 is getting stronger and biiiiiiiiiigger every week. His movements are more pronounced, more direct, and quite frequent. My last appointment got postponed so I am still waiting on the GD test. I have no reason to think there will be a problem! I am starting to dream of life with 2 boys. It may be crazy at times, but I will be thankful to have my full range of motion back. Poor Jett is doing a lot of walking on his own these days. It's just too much of a chore to carry him!

26.5 Weeks and Family Fun!

For everything God created is good... (1 Tim 4:4)

What an awesome weekend! The sun was shining so Travis decided it was a good day to take off from work. He and I drove to Beaverton, OR and met up with Connie, Sontia, Taelynn and Lindee. Jett had fun playing with his cousins, even if it was in a store =)

It was refreshing for both Travis and I to set aside all talk of work and future plans. Our goal was to relax and treasure time together.

We had a laugh comparing spouses to investments in the stock market: your spouse, like any investment in the stock market, will have up moments and down moments, but in the long run... the hope is that they go up in value =) Mine sure has!

Here are a few pictures from Jett & Noah's (okay, Elizabeth and my) playdate at the Port of Play. The boys make pretty good emergency teammates, doncha think?

Not in TOO much of a hurry..

Here is a brief-not-super-exciting video clip of Jett, and some photos from our Sunday afternoon at home. I am THRILLED when the weather is dry and we can hang out in the great outdoors!

Second Snow Day!

Do you remember this... ?

Jett always has to try his hand at whatever Daddy or Mommy is working on...

25 Weeks

25 WEEKS... and growing =)

Yes, growing. The doctor reported a 7 lb. weight gain over 5 weeks time. Yipes! He assured me that all is well and on track. The baby's heartbeat was strong, which is always a welcome sound. Thank you Lord!

Jett continues to terrorize the cat. The cat dodges him and tries hideout after hideout until he finally finds a spot where Jett can no longer reach him. Not an easy task!

More cat torture: trying to clip the cat's toenails.

Playing outdoors on a sunny day.

Good friends!
Bird watching!

Cullaby Lake in the cold.

Whoa!

I found Jett like this yesterday morning. Trying to be like daddy.
