25 Weeks

25 WEEKS... and growing =)

Yes, growing. The doctor reported a 7 lb. weight gain over 5 weeks time. Yipes! He assured me that all is well and on track. The baby's heartbeat was strong, which is always a welcome sound. Thank you Lord!

Jett continues to terrorize the cat. The cat dodges him and tries hideout after hideout until he finally finds a spot where Jett can no longer reach him. Not an easy task!

More cat torture: trying to clip the cat's toenails.

Playing outdoors on a sunny day.

Good friends!
Bird watching!

Whoa!

I found Jett like this yesterday morning. Trying to be like daddy.

24 Weeks and Mom's Least Favorite Games

24 Weeks- "Expose That Belly" Game

"Run Away from Mama with Something Valuable" Game (in this case, a library book)

"Wrap Myself Up in A-N-Y-T-H-I-N-G" Game (in this case, the cords from the baby moniter)

Those are a few of Jett's favorite things to play lately. Games that Daddy & Mama don't appreciate so much!

At 13 months, he is starting to impress us with a few new words: nose, bus, truck, NO!, Grandpa, banana, meow, book, and shoe. Some of them require a translation, but it's fun to hear his version of these words!

We also have been suprised at the things he understands. Every day I try new commands, or have him show me different objects. He can fetch Daddy's pants, give Grandpa the remote control, put things back, identify his ears, hair, legs, knees, mouth, teeth, toes, an "owie", nose, pants, shirt, belly (of course!), and the list multiplies daily. Lately Travis and I are speaking more Spanish to eachother in his presence and less English. What will we do when he starts to understand Spanish?!

Baby Boy #2 is also growing by leaps and bounds. Okay, that's what I hope anyway. The scale is going up, up, up and it's comforting to look back at my journal entries with pregnancy #1 and see that this is right on schedule. Otherwise, all is well with this baby. He kicks and squirms enough each day to let me know he's there. Once in a while I will watch a leg or hand get pushed out and across my stomach. That's ALWAYS exciting! Sometimes he will position himself in a way that lets me feel his back or head quite clearly. And these brief encounters leave me wondering.... what does he look like? What will his personality be?

Travis has been working full-time on our new house. It feels like Christmas every time I go to the job-site and see where our new living room, bathrooms, bedrooms, kitchen, and laundry room are located. Jett seems to feel the same way (though probably not for the same reasons). He gets positively giddy when we roll up to the job site, and he would spend all day in the sand, dirt, water, and wood if we let him.

And just for fun.. a photo I took this weekend while Jett's cousins were here.

A Day in the Life of A Rascal

We love this boy. He keeps us on our toes.

He teaches us patience, perserverance, and gives us plenty of laughs every day.

He always manages to leave a hurricane in his wake.

The only one in the house who really does NOT appreciate Jett, is the cat. I wonder why not....

23 Weeks... Boys oh Boys

Here's for all you baby fans =)

It has been a great 2nd trimester thus far. I am not able to get out and walk as much as I did with Jett, but I have been feeling just fine. Several times a day and night I can feel little kicks and wiggles that are distinctly a hand or a foot crashing into my belly... not just fluttery feelings anymore!

My appetite has simmered down a bit. I am no longer S.T.A.R.V.I.N.G all day long. I am not having any major cravings (chai tea doesn't count!) and most of the foods that disgusted me a few months ago are now welcome back into my refrigerator.

My only complaint is the tingling sensation that I often feel in my feet in the evenings and at night. A foot massage would help a little bit, but one night Travis was inspired to tie socks around my feet and it made a big difference! A few nights ago while I was lying in bed I asked Trav to "fix my feet". He did, and I fell asleep. I was a bit dismayed to wake up in the morning and discover that he had tied one end of a scarf around my right foot, and the other end to my left foot. It had helped me to sleep well, but WOW did it look dumb in the morning!!

Here are my 23 week pictures:

And just for fun:

There is more than 1 way to use a drum!

Jett is always THRILLED to spend time at our new house jobsite. Trav always gives him plenty of wood to play with and he "helps" Daddy build. I'm sure he will be heading to work with Travis as soon as he is trained enough to do some real good.... even if it's just clean up!
